On the road with Fr. Emil, April 2007

After leaving the Kasson/Byron area in Minnesota, we spent Palm Sunday at Burlington in southern Wisconsin. At a retreat center there, persons from all over the United States ranging from California to Florida met to discuss issues on how to improve support for the missions.
For Holy Week, Fr. Emil celebrated services for Gypsum parish outside of his hometown of Salina, Kansas. Leaving Kansas, where it snowed three inches on Holy Thursday, we headed out for sunny Florida with temperatures in the high 80’s. Father celebrated Mass at the cathedral for the weekend of April 14-15 and again in St. Augustine, Florida for the parishioners of St. Anastasia the following week. While in St. Augustine we had a reunion dinner where volunteers gathered to reminisce their mission trip to Honduras. From there it was back north towards Chicago that brought Fr. Emil and I to the small town of Braceville, Illinois for the Masses of the last weekend of April.
